Greetings Everyone!
Golden Gavel Advanced toastmasters held their first meeting of 2018 this past Monday, 22 January 2018. The meeting was spectacular to say the least! For the first time, we merged the Impromptu speaking contest with our traditional beginning of the year improv meeting.
All our contestants were stars! Margot, Yoke, Enid, Yianna, Kazik, Jarrod & Jabulani! Congratulations to the winners:

For the unprepared, improv meeting, Michael chose the perfect theme: “Not my circus, not my monkeys!”. ?????? what fun!
Willem delivered a fantastic impromptu toast, in his characteristic style, to open the evening. We honored Michael for his DTM award!
Elaine’s impromptu cc1, “This is who I am” was great. Eric’s impromptu cc4, “Be prepared” was passionate!
Effective evaluations were delivered by Nikki, Kazik and the audience during the round robin portion.
We then played a round of: “Spot the truth” Willem, Yoke and Juel had us in stitches ???- Yoke was the only one telling the truth!! Willem’s slithering snake was hysterical! We had a unique Uhm Ahh counter report from our visitor Isabel from Accenture. Jacques gave a truly acrobatic grammarians report. Bradford our visitor from Accenture was an awesome S@A! Dimitri was awarded “star of the evening” ??
