Dave Cairns – How to write a Humorous Speech and Pathways – Nikki Quinn

Some people have the unique gift of creating laughter, Dave Cairns is one of those people.   At Golden Gavel Advanced, we want you to become an expert, and that’s why we learn from the best.

“The first time I met Dave Cairns was at a Tall Story competition in Menlyn Shopping Center.  I was blown away by his charm, his funny jokes and his incredible way of mesmerizing an audience.  Through the years in Pretoria he was always the winner, or in the top 3 at the Division A contests, and in 2011 he stole our hearts with his speech entitled: “My Teacher” -and took the trophy from under the nose of the likes of Douglas Kruger.

Dave has not only been on the District stage many times for winning International, Impromptu and Humorous Contests – he is often heard speaking at Old Age Homes or Schools and finds it very important to encourage, motivate and make people laugh.  He is a proud member of Centurion Toastmasters, and always accompanied by his good friend: Martin Faure.”  – Yoke van Dam
